ART IN THE MIND’S EYE
Figures float and shimmer in Nancy Moore’s “Intuitive Spirit” watercolors. People and animals dance within soaring bands of color. There is joy here, community, and dreaming. The title of “No Flights Canceled Here” implies the many meanings of flight and reminds us of some of our favorite “flights of fancy.” But we might also see the swirling colors as the visual image of a song – and imagine how wondrous it would be to see music in the air around us. In ”Here I Come #1,” we’re proud, bright, and sassy, heading for the finish line. “Darling’s Sweet Spot” is a dream of dreaming. Amid swaths of green grass and sunshine yellow, three of Earth’s beings seem to be sleeping peacefully, their closed eyes and outstretched arms signaling a safe harbor, with a heart curled in the center. Our hearts quickly respond in these fraught days as we are all dreaming of peaceful rest.
