ABOUT THE ARTIST
NANCY MOORE ~ Fine Art Painter
“I am Spirit, I am Love, all is well, we are One.”
Nancy Moore thinks of herself as a facilitator of self-healing: one who carries tools, stands by, holds prayers, is a bridge, and is attentive. She shares her knowing, and invites others to discover and savor awareness, through the creation of her visionary mixed media paintings.
THE SPIRIT
Nancy began her artist’s journey as a young child by roaming her family farm in Pennsylvania and coloring illustrations in the dictionary. That early love of creativity lead to Nancy earning a BFA from Pennsylvania State University.
After college, Nancy began a lifelong pursuit of awareness expanding experiences that includes travels to Algeria, Brazil, China, Cuba & England, painting in France and Ireland, and three month camping adventures in Arizona and in New Mexico. Over time, Nancy danced away from her classical visual arts training and began exploring abstracted representations of life.
Nancy’s desire to depict the essence of human experience led to the pursuit and development of her unique intuitive painting. Her deeply personal visual language, and her sensory exploration of places, nature, music and dance, has been evolving ever since.
THE PROCESS
“The seeing that I experience is not of my eyes - when I am with the watercolor paper, what emerges is an awareness of oneness with my inner voice.”
Nancy has learned when insight comes from a place of peace, there is energy and life. Her intuitive paintings are responses to the light she senses in the human spirit. Using watercolors, pastels, inks, graphite/colored pencils and charcoal, she develops playful images filled with bold strokes of brilliant color. These visual narratives are at once abstract & primitive, and meaningful & nuanced.
When Nancy dances with her creative muse, which often occurs in natural environments, what emerges are spiritual landscapes that reflect humanities inner voice and universal connections.
THE JOURNEY
Nancy’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and juried exhibitions across the United States and in Canada, and have received numerous awards. Magazines have featured Nancy’s spirit driven paintings and her images can be found on music CD covers.
